The elderly are some of society's most vulnerable individuals. When a parent's health has deteriorated to the point that he or she cannot take care of himself or herself, a nursing home may be the best option. Choosing the right nursing home can be a tough decision. Not only is it important that the home provides the right type of care for your loved one, but the home must also have a caring staff that you can trust not to commit malpractice or elder abuse.

With the high temperatures we've had throughout Oklahoma this summer, it isn't hard to see why. Pool owners are often responsible for the injuries suffered in and around their pools and can be succeptable to pool injury lawsuits.

Transportation for America, an organization that promotes pedestrian safety, has released its report “Dangerous By Design 2011.” No cities or states want to be at the top of this list! Oklahoma is ranked the 18th deadliest state and Oklahoma City is ranked the 22nd deadliest city for pedestrians in the nation. The study found 47,700 pedestrians were killed and 688,000 were injured between 2000 and 2009. Breaking the numbers down a bit more, there were 167 pedestrian deaths in Oklahoma City and 7,338 deaths state wide between 2000 and 2009. That means 12 percent of all traffic-related fatalities in the U.S. involved a pedestrian.

Accidents in Oklahoma City Start Weekend
At the start of the holiday weekend in Oklahoma City, a multiple-car pileup on I-35 blocked the interstate's northbound lanes for several hours. Consider yourself lucky if everyone walks away uninjured; many times, however, that is not case. The Oklahoma City accident attorneys at Atkins and Markoff have been helping accident victims for over 1o years.
