OK Defective Product Attorneys : Kellogg Cereal Recalls
The United States Food and Drug Administration says that there is an uncharacteristic off-flavor and smell coming from the liner of the package, and the specific codes for which cereals are recalled can be found on their official recall statement made on the FDA webpage. They began arriving in stores late March of this year. Spokeswoman J. Adaire Putnam said the smell on the liner is coming from a substance that can produce a "waxy-like off taste and smell". The recalled cereal distributed over 28 million boxes nationwide from the company's base in Battlecreek, Michigan, leaving other countries that consume the product safe from the recall, such as Canada, another major consumer.
There shouldn't be any dangerous or hazardous potential for anyone who may have already eaten any of these cereals, only the possibility of temporary symptoms such as nausea, due to the flavor and smell. There have been about five consumer complaints of nausea and diarrhea, and about ten complaints of feeling ill. In the meantime, they are trying to identify the substance found on the liner. The Kellogg company president, Dave Mackay, gave an apology to the public, saying that they are "working diligently to ensure that the affected products are rapidly removed from the marketplace."
