Manufacturers must ensure that their product is safe for the customers who purchase it. This is especially true when the item is used for sports and recreational activities. Participation in a recreational sporting activity always involves some degree of risk (falling off a bike, getting tackled in a football game, etc.), therefore the products used during such activities need to be especially safe so as to reduce the risk of any other unnecessary injuries. The risk of serious injury from a fall is a common reason why many items such as bicycles and climbing equipment are often recalled.

Recent sports and recreation related recalls:

  • Summit Treestands Recalls Hunting Tree Stand Brackets Due to Fall Hazard
  • Yamaha Recalls Snowmobiles Due to Loss of Steering Control
  • Johnson Health Tech North America Recalls Horizon Fitness and LIVESTRONG™ Fitness Elliptical Trainers Due to Fall Hazard
  • Rifle Crossbow Recalled by Master Cutlery; Crossbow Can Discharge Unexpectedly
  • Bicycles and Framesets Recalled By Seattle Bike Supply Due to Fall Hazard
  • Primal Vantage Recalls Plastic Tree Steps Due to Fall Hazard
  • Scuba Regulators Recalled by Cressi Due to Risk of Drowning
  • 5.11 Tactical® Knives Recalled Due to Laceration Hazard
  • Diving Equipment Recalled by Dive Rite Due to Drowning Hazard
  • Polaris Industries Recalls Certain ATVs Due to Crash Hazard
  • CO2 Bicycle Tire Inflators Sold at Walmart Recalled by Todson Inc. Due to Risk of Injury
