While many people have already suffered and have required the help of Avandia side effects lawyers to defend their legal rights, many others are concerned with what could happen in the future after using this medication. The makers of Tylenol, Motrin, Benadryl and other over-the-counter medications has come under increasingly intense scrutiny recently because of a series of recalls and other serious problems. McNeil is the manufacturer of these medications, and McNeil is a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, one of the true giants of the corporate world. Unfortunately for many people, McNeil medication products have generated hundreds of adverse effects reports. Now comes word that the FDA, on the heels of a recently completed investigation of one of McNeil's manufacturing plants, has announced that it will expand its investigation. This news adds to the problems the company is having that has already prompted calls for help to defective drugs lawyers all over the United States.

The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality has discovered high levels of mercury in 16 lakes, forcing the state to issue advisories about eating fish that might contain this deadly toxin. The Department has advised people not to eat stripped bass at Lake Broken Bow and not to eat white bass at McGee Creek Lake. | Some people like to celebrate Independence Day buying fireworks to set off from home. For Russell Terrill of Byers, Oklahoma, it was a decision that cost him his left eye. The Terrill family was known to be very generous, welcoming, and always had plenty of fireworks stocked up for their Fourth of July celebration. Terrill and his son were at their home Sunday night attempting to light a firecracker, when something hit his eye that "felt like a shotgun blast to the face". Rushed to a Pauls Valley hospital, and then eventually to Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City for surgery, the incident was costly, but could have been much worse. |
Though it is illegal to drive without insurance, many motorists in Oklahoma are still uninsured or underinsured. A study released by the Insurance Research Council ranked Oklahoma as the fourth-worst state in the nation for uninsured motorists and found that one in four Oklahoma state drivers don't have insurance. But driving without insurance or without enough insurance can be a legal and financial gamble. Underinsured drivers often find themselves seeking the help of an experienced Oklahoma car accident attorney when the costs of a motor vehicle accident exceed insurance coverage.

On June 4, 2010, more than a dozen people were affected by an industrial accident in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Around 10 a.m. on Friday morning, a 55-gallon drum of chloromethyl naphtalene released corrosive vapors when it was punctured at the Old Dominion Freight Line facility near Harvard Avenue and Dawson Road. Fifteen people were affected by the vapors and nine of them were taken to area hospitals. Injuries such as these may deserve compensation and victims should contact an Oklahoma City workers' compensation lawyer as soon as possible to discuss your situation.  |
Workers in every industry face a risk of being injured while on the job. This has been happening since the dawn of our society, and over time state governments have come to create laws designed to protect injured workers so that they don't lose everything they've worked for because of one random accident. This system of laws is known as worker's compensation, and Oklahoma is not unlike every other jurisdiction in that it offers these workers an alternative for help when they need it. However, there is a process that must be followed in order for worker's compensation benefits to be successfully obtained, and this process can be challenging enough to require the help of an Oklahoma worker's compensation lawyer from time to time.

Third party workers' comp cases refer to a personal injury case against a person or company who is at fault when there is also a workers’ compensation claim filed against an employer. In other words, if you are injured on the job as a result of a third party’s carelessness or mistake, you may be able to receive compensation on a third party claim in addition to receiving workers’ compensation.

If you have been shopping recently in the boys and girls section at Target, you may have purchased one of the belts they have recalled due to a violation of the lead paint standard. The Target Corporation of Minneapolis, Minnesota cooperated with the U.S Consumer Product Safety Commission in determining that the belts did in fact contain excessive levels of lead. Although no injuries or incidents have been reported, there was additional testing done to confirm the high amounts of lead. Lead poisoning can affect childrens' development over time, and any parent that suspects their child of excessive lead paint exposure should contact the Oklahoma City attorneys of Atkins and Markoff. The Kellogg Company recently issued a recall on four of their most popular cereals. Apple Jacks, Corn Pops, Froot Loops, and Honey Smacks cereal boxes that have the letters "KN" preceding the "Better If Used Before Date" stamp are the only cereal boxes involved with the specific boxes that are to be returned for a refund or replacement box. While no consumer has been harmed by these cereals as of yet, the defective product attorneys at Atkins and Markoff urge Oklahoma consumers to beware of the products and contact our firm if any harmful reactions occur.

As children our biggest safety concern when riding in cars was wearing our seatbelts. Now, with the recent recalls by GM and Toyota, the potential safety problems are more vast and serious. On the heels of Toyota’s massive recalls, Chrysler announced earlier this month that it will be recalling nearly 600,000 minivans and Jeep Wranglers in the United States and some 100,000 elsewhere. Consumers that have injured by these defective vehicles are urged to contact an expereinced defective product recall attorney to see if they qualify for compensation.  |
